The sound quality is fine. There is an easy and clear atmosphere in this recording · till the funny vocals in the last tune. Some words which Leon Thomas sang to ·Song for My Father· come to my mind: ·He could live like a king ·cause he knew the real pleasure in life·. The animation, brightness, lightness and sensuousness which the Venice-recording (and many other recordings of Steve Coleman·s music) express are from my point of view essential elements of the ·real pleasure in life·. The cultural atmosphere of Venice and the charm of Italian way of life fit in. In my text entitled ·Beyond All We Know· 3 tunes of this concert are mentioned.
