wondering what codec was used for 5Elements video

Hi there -

firstly, thank you for maintaining this archive. I downloaded a 5 Elements video (5Elements_creteil2006.avi), but my Quicktime player is apparently missing the 'codec' to decode the video. It won't tell me which codec is missing, so please let me know.

Hi Aron,

I didn't try because I didn't download these files yet, but may be you should try another player. VLC is a very good one working with windows, linux, mac os x ... and it is a freeware.

Hello Aron,

the codec I was using for all videos so far is a DIVX.
You can read it with VLC, WMP, Mplayer etc.

this is a very common codec, this is why I choose that one.

I can now play the video with the DivX player, but there is no audio (?).

Be sure to use the aforementionned softwares and yuo will have no problems with the videos.
